They are Community Carbon Champions. This is a project funded from the Scottish Government Climate Challenge Fund which aims to encourage people and communities to reduce their carbon emissions.

The project does that by creating vegetable gardens in other peoples gardens. This saves them money and reduces the number of vegetables that have to come in to the area by road with all the carbon emissions from the lorries going up and down our motorways. The young people involved in the Three C’s project are also creating a DVD for the families involved to demonstrate how you can cook the vegetables in the most energy efficient way. The DVD will carry information about the others ways in which households can reduce their carbon emissions and look after the environment. This is a unique project where young people have the chance to gain a whole wide variety of new skills which help them to move towards their own independent life style in the community.
