We are very committed to encouraging people to consider youth work as a career and have actively supported those who may be interested in this. We have had full time volunteers who are taking a “Gap Year” work with us on a number of occasions and several of these have gone on to full time youth work.

We also have a partnership with the International Christian College in Glasgow where their full time students are placed with YMCA in Perth 20 hours a week for up to three years during their course. In this programme we have had students from as far afield as Zambia.

We have also become an approved centre for young people to pursue an SVQ 2 in Youth Work as a means to encourage youth work skills in the community.
