The Climbing Wall

The Wall will be will be a unique resource locally and an invaluable youth work tool in team work and confidence building with many of the vulnerable young people with whom YMCA work. Kevin Howett of the Mountaineering Council of Scotland has consistently used climbing in confidence building with young people. It would also allow us to involve family units in a physical challenge where they can develop cooperative and communication skills.

Climbing is one of Britain's most rapidly expanding sports with a growing indoor competition circuit which would attract business not only to YMCA but to Perth as a whole. In conjunction with the Computer Suite the Wall would make The "Y" Centre attractive to youth groups, Educational trips, and Corporate staff training all of which will generate revenue.
